Description: This is a Classical Pilates mat class with fun variations and appropriate modifications. Classical Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates and is a core/abdominal centered exercise. Originally called “Contrology,” Pilates teaches you to use your arms, legs and entire body from a place of strength: your core! It also strengthens, stretches, aligns, stabilizes, and balances. It’s not only abdominal workout; it’s a full body exercise! Pilates mat classes are performed on a yoga or Pilates mat where the instructor guides practitioners through a progression of exercises that warm the body and lungs, mobilize the spine and joints, and the strengthen the core and body. Appropriate for all body-types and ages. No experience required. Wear comfortable workout attire. You will need a yoga or exercise mat and a large bath towel. Description: Pole Fluidity is a 60 minute intermediate Pole choreography focused class. Students will start with a guided full body floor-based warm up. This feel good warm up will feature movements relative to skills taught in class and will prepare students mentally and physically for the choreography. After the warm up students will begin learning small phrases of choreography to a song that will eventually equal 1.5-2 minutes of a dance specially prepared for class. Students will work solo and with the coach to solidify their technique and movements so no dance experience or formal training is needed. Towards the end of class students are welcome to freestyle continue working on their choreography or begin their cool down. Students must be in Pole level 2 or higher to attend this class. It’s not only abdominal workout; it’s a full body exercise! Pilates mat classes are performed on a yoga or Pilates mat where the instructor guides practitioners through a progression of exercises that warm the body and lungs, mobilize the spine and joints, and the strengthen the core and body. Description: This IntermediateAdvanced aerial class is for students in Silks Level 3 or higher or with an Empyrean Arts instructor approval prior to the start of class. Students will focus on stamina and technique in the air and especially on strong inversions as well as be introduced to new climbs single rotation drops and interesting new ways to link skills together including unfamiliar entrances to familiar skills. For advanced students skills requiring increased strength including single arm strength multiple rotations theoretical understanding of wraps and setups and dynamic skills and releases will be taught. Students may develop a preference for the the single strand and sturdiness of rope or the split strand and fluid possibilities of fabric. It’s not only abdominal workout; it’s a full body exercise! Description: Pole Fluidity is a 60 minute intermediate Pole choreography focused class. Students will start with a guided full body floor-based warm up. This feel good warm up will feature movements relative to skills taught in class and will prepare students mentally and physically for the choreography. After the warm up students will begin learning small phrases of choreography to a song that will eventually equal 1.5-2 minutes of a dance specially prepared for class. Students will work solo and with the coach to solidify their technique and movements so no dance experience or formal training is needed. Towards the end of class students are welcome to freestyle continue working on their choreography or begin their cool down. Students must be in Pole level 2 or higher to attend this class.
