Description: Bungee is the best way to explore how much fun bouncing around can be in a safe, low impact way. The bungee system allows for exercise that is accessible to all, and is a great addition or alternative to other forms of cardiovascular and strength based activities. It can also be a useful tool for injury recovery. In this class, students will be introduced to foundational bungee movements and terminology, learn proper harness fitting and how to weight check for proper bungee resistance, and building trust with the bungee system. Students need to wear stretchy, comfortable leggings or knee length biker type shorts and a shirt that can be tucked in or that covers the waist area completely. We highly recommend that students come prepared to explore this class with bare feet, grippy socks, and/or exercise sneakers to find what works best for each person as we want to avoid smooshed toes.

Location: Studio 108

Asheville, NC

Description: Have you thought about performing but aren't sure where to start? Or do you already have a few performances under your belt and are looking to up your game? If so, this workshop series is for you! For many, the thought of performing can feel out of reach or intimidating. Together, we will demystify aspects of performing and help you realize your true potential. In this workshop, we will look at everyday movements and studio training to see how we can incorporate aspects of performing in mundane tasks, by building confidence and stage presence. Through a variety of exercises, we will break down barriers and find the performer that resides in each of us. Whether you plan to present in front of an audience or simply wish to perform for yourself, this class is for you. Open to any level and any apparatus, we will focus on the "in-between nougat" rather than building a full act, though we will discuss act creation and where to find inspiration. If you are already working on an act, this workshop is a great way to level up your performance! Class will begin with warm-up and conditioning, followed by exercises with fellow classmates to develop audience engagement. We will also explore approaching and exiting your apparatus of choice and how to carry yourself on stage. All levels welcome, all apparatuses

Intro to Spin Pole (Intro-Level 1-Level 2)
with Kathy Baynard

Location: Studio 107 Upstairs
32 Banks Ave,
Asheville, NC

Description: Intro to Spin Pole is perfect for total beginners and for folks with some pole experience who are looking to refine foundational spins, skills, tricks, and floorwork. This 60m class is designed to build up strength and confidence from the ground up, and it blends our Intro, Pole 1, and Pole 2 curriculums to provide a solid foundation with Pole. No upper body strength or dance experience required, we will build that together. To have the best grip experience we recommend the following - shorts are essential, skin-to-pole contact is what provides the "grip" one needs for spins and sits, high-waisted pole shorts are popular for staying secure while moving, and a supportive sports bra or a fitted tank top. Layering up is perfect - bring joggers or leggings and a sweatshirt for the warm-up to keep your muscles toasty before we get on the poles. Many students go barefoot or wear socks, and heels are most welcome. Please do not apply lotions or oils before class, you will be slippery.

with Queen April

Location: Studio 107 Upstairs
32 Banks Ave,
Asheville, NC

Description: Intro to Pole Dance (18+) class is perfect for total beginners and for folks with some pole experience who are looking to refine foundational spins, skills, tricks, and floorwork.
